Jake Paul v Tommy Fury

I've just read the following on Wiki - How are these people allowed to get away with it?

Scam allegations

On January 3, 2018, Paul started the website Edfluence, a program claiming to teach younger people how to be successful, learn life skills, and earn money online. The course cost US$7 per user, which would allow the user to unlock a series of videos for a "roadmap" to success as an influencer. However, the seven dollars did not unlock the entire program, but only gave a few basic tips. Paul also promised his audience that if they joined the course, they would get to join "Team 1000", which did not happen. Following the situation, Paul was accused of scamming young followers and stealing their money. Then, two years later, on January 31, 2020, Edfluence was shut down, which stopped the course permanently.[75] On February 15, Paul announced that he would partner with Los Angeles-based brand development group GenZ Holdings Inc. to create a $19.99-per-month platform aimed at teaching children how to build an online presence.[76] "The Financial Freedom Movement" promises to give subscribers access to "Jake Paul’s personal experience, rituals and secret formula" and "cutting edge mentorship, coaching, and training".[77] The program has been criticized by some, with one interviewer questioning whether it would send a dangerous message to his young fanbase.[77]

On January 3, 2019, Paul, along with fellow YouTuber RiceGum, came under fire for promoting MysteryBrand, a website that offers the chance to open a digital "mystery box" of pre-selected items with a promise to win one in real life at random. Many users have said they have not received prizes they won through the site.[78]

On February 18, 2022, in a class-action lawsuit filed against the cryptocurrency company SafeMoon that alleged the company is a pump and dump scheme, Paul was named as a defendant along with musician Nick Carter, rappers Soulja Boy and Lil Yachty, and social media personality Ben Phillips for promoting the SafeMoon token on their social media accounts with misleading information as part of the 2022 Safemoon fraud allegations.[79][80] On the same day, the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a lawsuit against Bitconnect that the Securities Act of 1933 extends to targeted solicitation using social media.[81] In March 2022, YouTuber Coffeezilla uploaded a video in which he accused Paul of using cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens to scam his fans out of $2.2 million.[82]
watch all the endless coffeezilla videos on him, he shows up exactly what he been upto project after project, and his brothers had his hand in a few as well lol

you just had to look at the love island tysons record that made his 8-0 to see how bad people he has thought to get to that stage lol

was always gonna be a **** show lol, as long as people keep paying the paul's will keep taking their money lol

Carl Froch was MINT 35 professional fights, 33 wins £15m won the world title at 31yo.. properly good.

Tommy Fury at 23yo took about £3m from last nights fight.. he could do that again in the rematch and probably manager to squeeze out a third fight. A fight with KSI would probably do similar numbers.. four fights in two years 24yo he could have the same net worth as Carl Froch MBE.. you could see why he’d be tempted to go down that route rather than grafting for the light heavyweight title. Money in the bank, sun on the back, food on the table.. roof over the families head. Job done.

in boxing I feel the title belts are just to show who is controlling the matches, more than who is defening them against the person who deserves the shot the most, always about keeping hold of it at the expense of best match ups and milking as much money as possible from it

As poor as it was and as annoying as this whole influencer/youtube becoming boxers is, you have to hand it to Jake Paul, this has grown and grown and the interest last night and fall our after matches that of most super fights with genuine boxers.

Tyson Fury for me deep down knows he is not going to far in the professional ranks. If he even attempted it, he isnt going to make anywhere near what he made last night. He may as well go down the route of fighting other youtubers/influencers knowing he has a good chance against most and make a fortune.

I do feel sorry for the boxers dedicating and sacrificing their lives to never earn anywhere near the same but this is a new sport of boxing meet WWE and young kids love it and in turn some parents/older folk will turn their heads.

I think genuine boxers out there need to embrace social media and build profiles to ensure more money hits boxers throughout the rankings and not just those at the top. Whether we like it or not, thats the way it is

I know some people on here think he's a fraud but Jesus.

Yeah I feel like Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua should have happened before ‘the trilogy’

These are career high purses for most professional boxers. Regardless of ability or potential or anything like that the whole point of it is getting paid to fight. If his little brother can get paid world title money for doing much less then I’m sure he’ll wish him good luck and to milk it as far as he can.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game.. as they say.

he's literally made a market from nothing for attraction exhibition fights to bring in millions for people who are rated hundreds and hundreds of places down the rankings lol, great money if you can get it lol. Must be plenty of the top 100 who look on at this and think what am I doing wrong. Ultimately its the story behind a fight what gets people to part with their money and this is all story lol

the wwe element is part of boxing its self to be fair and not exclusive to them. They just rely fully on the story to sell the fight and there is no sub plot of the championship or them becoming a number one contender etc being on the line

its not just down to them with the wwe **** fixing boxing, as its all down to someone when they get the prestigious title belts and the sport does not control them anymore,
its the boxer and his promoter, they are times when they are forced to give someone the shot but the majority of the time it seems like its all down to how much money can we make,
how much will they agree to their cut as challenger (with rematch clauses if they lose) and do we want that fight or do we want one that will extend things longer for us.
Judges seem to play their part also with some dubious draws or victories that seem to get awarded more for the money trail to be continued than what the result should have been too.

So much of it seems fixed, not by match fixing and people taking a fall but allowing so much control to the people with the belts so they can stack odds in their favour

Boxers can’t compete with the audience numbers/followers of a celebrity.
That's true in some cases, but there are plenty of boxers out there that could fill stadiums out twice over. Boxing is suffering due to some dodgy decisions and so many boxers doing whatever they can to not fight another opponent. I'm not into UFC at all, but their structure is much better in terms of best fighting the best and challenging the title holder. Far too many times in boxing we don't get to see the best v best in their prime, it's usually a watered-down version when one is either on the decline age wise or has had a loss or two.

Yeah, boxing does need to wise up or risk losing out to to soap stars giving it hand bags and high heels.. we need more naseem hamed characters coming in on lepard skin flying carpets and doing backflips in the ring.. more boxers driving round in articulated lorrys and walking albino tigers like dogs. THATS what boxing should be about.
