Jacob Young and his Lemon Top obsession

Holding the facts that he was a process operator and a local councillor against him is pretty poor to be honest. Who does the writer want as MPs? More Eton in-breds and Goldman Sachs vampires?

On the other hand, Young does seem to have been little more than a Johnson stooge with no independent thoughts and will likely be submitting his CV to SABIC again in a year or so.

I didn't read his work CV as a criticism, just as a fact. His lack of political experience is certainly worth pointing out.
I think the author was derogatory with the 'bin collections' comment. Besides, many MPS go into it with no political experience, mostly because they are using it solely as an extension of their business interests.

He will be looked after when he is turfed out by his friends in the Tory back scratching society network he frequents and did favours for with a wink and a nudge, don't you worry about that. He was an obedient little soldier.

'Good chap, one of ours, does the right thing*'

*not for his constituents though

I prefer him to Anna Turley tbh.. and I've never voted tory. It the tories could sort their act out I think he has the potential to make a decent MP (if there is such a thing)

I know Jacob, he is not a bad lad. But his politics and record should speak for itself (I am yet to see evidence of independent thought). I can’t think of a time that he has led on a local issue in the Redcar constituency in the same way that his predecessors did or attempted to do.

I think age, previous experience and work history are not areas people should attack. If anything, Parliament needs more engineers, just like it needs experiences from other careers too. He was 2 years as an opposition councillor in Middlesbrough will have been a lot of work. Believe me, it’s a hell of a job to do casework, often for quite vulnerable people, and offer scrutiny for the actions of a local authority.

Plus let’s be honest - did the Tories really think they were going to win Redcar? Breaking news - no way did they think that would happen at the start of a 6 week election campaign.

But people should judge him on his record, which is 100% loyal. No independent thought, no evidence of residents over party. We should hold all our politicians to a standard regardless of the colour of the rosette.

He was a Johnson stooge. When the recent discussions around Teesworks were held in Parliament, he sat on his hands and said absolutely zip. The lanky clown he was sat next to on the otherhand, (Clarke) did all of his talking for him.

Pair of them, and Bendy Houchen are all on borrowed time. All charlatans, or just plain thick, to be working for this incompetent government that's spent 13 years ruining our economy whilst rifling the public purse for their own gains.
Meanwhile child poverty is on the up, to a level not seen since ww2. Despicable bunch.

In case anyone hasn't looked at it and genuinely believes Jacob is a good egg, here's his parliamentary voting record.

He abstained on the Parliamentary Committee report and also Labour's request for the Conservatives to explain why the Freeport investigation won't be dealt with by the NAO, for what it's worth.

Only by being a diligent apparatchik can you hope to gain membership of the nomenklatura
When the party says jump….you ask, how high?
