I've never owned a Peugeot

As said above those fast little Peugeots in the 1980’s were superb cars.

A few years back I went to the Peugeot museum at Sochaux and they had some fantastic vintage cars from back in the day.

Had a 305GT not long after we'd got married. Lovely comfortable car and is still the favourite of the Missus from all the cars we've had.

I had a 206 , remember the indicator stalk falling off when driving and stuck blinking 😆, and all the doors had dents in from were people shut them , they all literally crinkled in the middle 😳😆

Had a 205D on lease once. Brilliant car, you could unclip the milometer cable under the dashboard to avoid some of your mileage being recorded.

So a friend told me, I would never do such a thing, naturally. 😲

I had 2 205GTIs (an original 1.6 and a 1.9), 2 405s (bloody kids!) and 3 306s including a mechanically injected turbo diesel and the first common rail diesel engine Peugeot fitted.
The acceleration of the original turbo diesel 'in gear' was fantastic. Mind you no matter what the weather you had to wait for the glow plugs to start it. I remember waiting to disembark from a ferry when the bloke next to me put the roof down on his Golf cabrio with his music blasting out. As the cars in front started to move I cranked the engine straight away. As it churned over the fella looked over with a smirk at which point it fired and filled the car deck with black smoke. 😆 Needless to say Mrs Chickenrunner was not amused by my antics.
