Has been part of an FA investigation into historical Betting for the last 7 months and is helping them with their enquiries.

Comes from before he played for Brentford and there’s no suggestion he bet against his own team.

Daily Mail publish the story now just before the World Cup squad is announced obviously trying to create controversy. Why do the gutter press do this? It’s like they save stories about footballers until they’ll do the most damage to either the player or the team. Been going on all my life and like Gazza said during Italia 90 - these journalists do everything they can to harm our chances of winning the World Cup.

Toney might not have started but I’d have him second in line behind Kane. Not the best preparation for a World Cup and chances are we won’t win it anyway, it’s just sickening it still happens.

Recall watching a programme on BBC just before the last World Cup about Southgate and the England team, and the the last interview was with Henry Winter, who was asked about Southgates England management career if it all went awry in Russia.
He didn't say anything ...just gave a smug chuckle and a smile to himself that to me clearly meant "we'll get rid of him" .

EDIT: just was looking at what that programme was called and found this on the Eurosport website.

"And yet, while the press can be a vicious beast, it is also susceptible to having its belly tickled. Seasoned reporters like Henry Winter, who almost boasted in the BBC documentary of having the power to make or break England managers, were won over by the relatively simple device of hosting a pre-World Cup, Super Bowl-style media event on June 5, inspired by Southgate’s trip to observe the NFL’s annual jamboree."
