Hi Sportsfans phew, after 5 long weeks my Notebook post is back.
I've had numerous posters contact me saying they've been experiencing withdrawal symptoms
A Matt Crooks stoppage time winner rounded off an enjoyable but very cold afternoon at the Riverside. Despite the baltic temperatures a great attendence of over 23k watched this one
Luton were combative and physical, Jones was on the end of most of the 'rough stuff' and The Hatters quite rightly had No.29 Amari Bell sent off for one cynical foul too many.
Neil Warnock target No.17 Pelly Mpanzu started in midfield and did OK while No. 18 Jordan Clark brought the game to life when he beat three players in midfield before firing left-footed into the bottom corner for a fine individual goal.
Jack Grealish lookalike No.7 Harry Cornick was introduced with 25 minutes to go and struggled to get involved.
The 2 upfront were a handful No.9 Carlton Morris has 8 goals and 4 assists this season.
But my Notebook choice AGAIN and for the second season running is No.11 Elijah Adebeyo
This lad looks the part, still only 24 he's powerful, quick and can hold the ball up. Took the ball off Howson in the first half with one shuddering challenge as Luton countered.
If Carrick wants to play with a target man then Adebayo fits the bill, in a better team I'm confident he would score a hatful. Would I have swapped Forss for Adebayo on the day ? Yes I probably would
The 6'4 striker, age 24 has scored 24 times in 79 Luton apps. Another from Fulham's academy, he was released following loans at Cheltenham, Swindon and Stevenage Joined Walsall in 2019 scoring 18 in 55 apps. Transferred to Luton in Feb 21 and looks a good prospect. Can also play at centre half.
He's in the Notebook.... AGAIN
****Merry Christmas to all Notebook followers, we go again on Boxing Day
