Italy vs Turkey Match Thread

Turkey were also my dark horse but they weren't good. They still might get out of this group though and then who knows?!:cautious:

Get them training, they looked knackered after 30 mins

I thought Turkey were very poor and flattered Italy in that performance. Italy pressed well though, but Turkey were clueless, but ltaly lacked nous in the final 3rd for me despite their goals. A good start nonetheless mind.

Dribbling is my favourite thing, it's why Grealish would be the second name on my england teamsheet. You can have the best defensive shape ever but it counts for nothing if someone dribbles through your lines
Agree with this fellas. Just dying to my eldest how players used to be able to beat a man. Now it’s all about ‘overloads’ and ‘working through the transitions’…..a quality dribbler Best/Comfort could break through on their own

Italy were solid. They will go far but, not being ageist, that defence could well struggle against the likes of France or Belgium.
I think they'd cope with England quite happily
Not sure myself. If we play our strongest side, I’d expect us the break then down.

I posted a thread moaning about Turkey going and getting beaten three nowt, didn't notice this thread. I predicted the result correctly earlier but didn't back it did I :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:😭 ... it was around 10/1

Depends how we set up. We'd certainly give them a better game than Turkey I would think. But if we play slow build up like the last few games I don know. Rashford and Sterling might scare them

I had Turkey down as the weak side in this group the other day, and I was told this is the best Turkish team for a decade :ROFLMAO:

Good performance by Italy, but I think Turkey made them look good. They lacked the technical ability to get on the ball in midfield and look to play balls in behind that aged Italian defense. Italy played really high, in and out of possession they compressed play and Turkey just lost the ball time and again. The keeper even before giving the third goal had given a turnover in possession at least 8 times by passing kicking the ball out of play, or straight to an Italian.

Italy looked good, but a more technical side will gave them a much better challenge. Turkey? Well I think they'll go home early, offered nothing up top, nervous at the back and lack of ability in possession.

Agreed, if Italy pushed three forwards up against our box from a goal kick, Pickford would pick them off with a 40 yard pass. They wouldn't dare play so high up the pitch either because if Mount, or Grealish or even Rice got on the ball we would probably turn them around with a ball in behind. I would fancy our chances against them, as long as we played 433, 343 they would pass through our midfield.
