It’s like watching paint dry

Have to say I've watched a lot of games over the last week and it's been hard to really enjoy any of them, the Italian matches being the worst. If this is classed as me not being able to wait to tell people I hate football then so be it but it's not the case, I just hate football in this form. Oh and I'm not 45-50 either.

Under normal circumstances these two games probably wouldn't have been the highlight of the weekend in all fairness. A poor Arsenal team who can't defend for toffee against a rampant City was always going to be one-sided.

Villa vs Sheff United, meh. One of those games that only appeals to fans of either team.

Spurs v Man United on Friday night should be a better contest.

Fully agree with you. I do hope that you have the same attitude when you get to 45-50 though Block as judging by this board that's about when the hatred towards the sport begins to consume a person despite still remaining actively involved in the football community.

Can’t see me ever changing mate i have been like this since I was about 2/3 my mam said I used to cry when she put cartoons on for me as I wanted the footy back on. I just love live football, I don’t mind it when people aren’t like me, that’s fine but it does me head in when people about boast about not watching it on a thread that’s about watching it. Don’t see the logic . I don’t watch Rugby or Cricket but I don’t go boasting about it when people speaking about it, I just don’t comment as I don’t know enough about it to comment.

Get where your coming from, of course it’s not as good as when the fans are there. But it is better than nothing, and a lot better than watching nothing . I just find it something to chill out and enjoy after work. The Bundesliga games are much better now than when they first re started so hopefully la liga and the premier league and championship will be good once they’ve had a few games to get back in the swing of things

You would think that would be a good game, let’s hope so. Plenty of top attacking talent on show anyway

Having watched Northern League football for a few years I'm used to the lack of noisy fans. I quite like it when the commentator doesn't have a sidekick too, they just tend to witter on too much about things not taking place on the pitch.

I was speaking generally, not saying you fall into this category.

And way more to play for tbh. Let's face it City are saving themselves for the CL. The fact Arsenal got hammered by them only shows just how bad they are at the moment.

Last night kind of reminded me of early stages of international tournaments. Players not quite adjusted to the summer heat, playing in a different team after a month or so out of action. And like Block21 said above, I would watch every Euro/World Cup game regardless the opponents but sometimes it would just be nice background noise whilst doing something else.

Things will start to pick up in the final run in I hope when teams know that one more win/defeat could seal their fate especially down at the bottom.

Agree with this too.

League 2 play offs start tonight , won’t be the best quality but surely be decent watchable games as plenty to play for.

I think you do need a crowd, even a small one, in the stadium for it to be a proper footballing event but I more turned the Villa match off because it was a poor game, I thought there were flashes of good football in the Man City match and the likes of Aguero and De Brunye could clearly play on a deserted park pitch and be motivated and world class. It will be interesting over time to see which are the players who can get themselves up for it.

I can't wait for the championship, I can see there being some horrendous scorelines
There was an horrendous score line in this game. Isn't the ref capable of over ruling the technical equipment when it is incorrect, because everyone in the stadium (all 50 of them) could see that the ball was over the line? Still it showed the game hasn't changed during the "holiday" Refs are no better.

Yes I agree and don’t get me wrong I’m firmly in the it’s better than nothing camp on this one. I too find it annoying that people on here are almost boasting about how much they hate watching footy. I couldn’t give a flying f*ck about politics or Coronavirus discussion but I’m happy keeping that to myself rather than hijacking threads to tell people that I don’t care about it.

Exactly mate , that’s more my point really. Just feel as if you aren’t interested in a subject best off not commenting on it. At least our mate Ronaldo failed last night .

Delighted to see it! I see he did his usual trick of being the 5th taker and never got to take one, think that’s the second time I’ve seen that happen to him.

Just sums him up. Would have more respect if he took the first one, scored it and led by example. Was delighted Napoli won
