It’s been 5 days

The doomongers are out in force. You can expect a manager to do too much in a couple of training sessions
I’m not expecting Carrick to be able to do anything with this group, however long he is here for. It’s going to take numerous windows, lots of moving in and out. I hope the club allow him to ride it out and afford him the time to weed out the losers.

Warnock paid the price, Wilder paid the price.. the blame lies within the squad. A core group of spineless players that don’t have the bottle, mentality or will to win that are letting us down time and time again.

The bedwetters are out in force on here this morning. One big mistake the club have made is not replacing Tavernier or letting him go for a smaller fee than Spence. Can any of them remember the last new Boro manager to win his first game in charge? Majority of these players are the same ones who beat Spurs in that memorable night in February. Soon forget that don’t they!!!!!!

1 out of the last 10 manager won their first game.

Im not reading anyone throwing any blame on Carrick yesterday for the result - if I've missed any comments that have then they are plums. What I am reading is the sheer frustration and concern about a team that lacks quality leadership and direction. Any fair and sane person would have to give MC time which is a monumental challenge. He deserves our backing of course for the next few months.

I wouldn’t say I’m a doommoonger. (😉) and in no way am I critical of Carrick but we are poor at the moment. Not a loaded question but did you go yesterday? We’re you surprised when the winner went in?

You can never judged a manger on the first game as you’d expect he’ll allow the players to show him how they play before he makes big changes.

It’s almost a free hit.

Look at wba yesterday.

True, but we are not the same team as then for what ever reason. Yesterday was the third time we’ve thrown away points in stoppage time. We’ve conceded three goals in the first half a couple of times this season (Blackburn should have too) . Failed to score at home against the only team yet to keep an away clean sheet (us excluded) cup exit at home to lower league opposition,

It’s been utter rubbish, this season. Absolutely dire, to try and say otherwise is bizarre in my mind.

I don’t think people are blaming Carrick. We’re just fed up of another defeat in avoidable circumstances. Should have got a point yesterday, which would have felt like a victory, give Carrick some momentum. But threw it away again

Carrick did only make 2 subs, we’ve been here before with managers not using the tools available to them to see a game out, that would be my only criticism yesterday.

I expect him to start working on the glaring issues at rockliffe asap though, defending set pieces being the main one right now.

I think Carrick was mad to take this job with Woodgate as number two. I think he’s started his career off on the wrong foot and will regret it.

His only chance of coming out of this with any credit is if the club acknowledges the job was a duffer and give him chance to get us promoted from league one and build his own team.

He needs time to succeed. No point sacking him if we are looking at relegation. We just keep going round in circles and need continuity and stability.

If he does keep us up he deserves the freedom of the city.
