At first he was refused.
Due to go to court today but the home office executive, on receipt of the evidence, have allowed him to stay in the UK.

The evidence suggested Israel is an apartheid state and those with anti Zionist views are in real risk of danger.
This guy is openly anti Zionist (and also Palestinian)

There was a previous case for a Jewish anti zionist.

In effect this could set a precedent for any Israeli currently in a country that signed up to the 1951 refugee agreement.
They can claim asylum if they think they are at risk from returning back the their country.

Interesting times

There's been Israelis granted asylum here before. Not sure what precedent it sets.

In a British court of law a judge has legally defined Israel as an apartheid state, who illegally persecute citizens who live in their country.
I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert but that seems quite significant.
Just reread it, actually approved by the home office before it went to court, but that could actually be more significant.

The R4 presenter tried to push the barrister on the significance of the late reversal of the decision.
He kind of dodged it but did say they would have won anyway and both would have set a very important precedent.
