Two point difference as it stands. Warnock has been lauded. Maybe the team believe they’re better than they are, as AK would say.
Until Warnock achieves promotion, AK is the better Boro manager.
I agree, that’s why I said AK will be the better Boro manager till NW gets a Boro promotion. If he does it on a lesser budget, he’ll be the better Boro manager. It’s opinions and judgements.Karanka had a squad guttted out for him before he arrived and was given £30m to spend on attackers alone.
He’s achieved one promotion on his whole career.
Warnock has eight promotions under his belt and inherited an absolute dog’s dinner after years of mismanagement from Gibson and has had £2m to spend on Akpom.
The two situations simply aren’t comparable.
At the moment they're 2 points apart with pretty average squads and probably about where you'd expect in the table.
It's not really a great comparison though, one has a wealth of experience and one is relatively new to management.
I think they've both done good jobs for us, although Warnock seems to get an easy ride from the fans (early days I know) and Karanka had every single decision and comment analysed when we lost.
wasn’t an easy ride during that six games at all. Lots of fingers being pointed and questions asked. I was happy he was starting from back and instilling the basics. Shame the old forum is down for these discussions.Karanka was given an easy ride for the first few months. We even went 6 games without scoring and everyone stayed quiet. The season after he did very well and deserved an easy ride, the fans were united behind him. It wasn’t until the promotion year that every match was analysed, because expectation had risen, then he walked out two days before a massive match! Not hard to see why he was scrutinised after that.
He has done.. many times. That's the point. I loved Karanka btw didn't want him to go and would have had him back in a heartbeat. Two point difference as it stands. Warnock has been lauded. Maybe the team believe they’re better than they are, as AK would say.
