Is the economy on the brink of collapse

I think that's what the whole thing is with the USA being after Greenland & Canada.. spread the debt.. get some more minerals on the books. Same with Ukraine... also 2 billion barrels worth of oil in shore of the Gaza strip.

50 minutes in so far - Very interesting discussions which we have talked about on here quite a few times. Many Rich people not paying tax and many rich companies too.

"My god MAGA you certainly (haven't got) those minerals"

Didn't have to watch it for long to work out that the fella in the middle is a greedy, selfish, bell end.

Trickle down economics FFS. You'd have to be an imbecile to fall for that after the last 2 decades.

..and Steven Bartlett is just a self promoting grade A bell-whiff, who makes podcasts listened to by other bell-whiffs, who think they're Gordon Gekko because they've got a few hundred quids worth of cyrpto.

The Aussie guys basic attitude is why should any one pay over £1m tax in the UK, when they can live in Dubai and pay nothing.

Of course if no rich people paid tax in large countries there would be no public services or defence forces.

I am starting to feel like Trump here why should the UK help police and green the World etc for the benefit of very rich people in Dubai who give us nothing back?

Gary Stevenson's heart is in the right place. The other two are complete tvvats.
It is, but it would be better if he put some detail around the things he talks about. I saw an interview where he was challenged to provide detail, and he came across as a total bellwhiff and didn't answer the questions.

If I was rich I'd happily pay the tax rather than live in Dubai

Exactly this.

Hasn't it been the case in the past that while they might stamp their feet, in reality it's a pretty small proportion who follow through on threats to leave a country when they're taxed more.

Of course they "could" move to a tax haven. Problem is deserts etc away from friends and family tend to get a pretty boring pretty quickly.

Could we remove their citizenship if they favour Dubai et al,,,please !

Interestingly I wondered how many millionaires live in the UK >3million is the answer.....however the A.I. response to the question was interesting
In 2023, the UK had an estimated 3.06 million dollar millionaires, but this number is projected to fall to 2.54 million by 2028, representing a 17% decrease, partly due to factors like increased taxes and a hostile environment for wealth creators.
Clearly biased towards the the super rich.
I wonder why?(shruggy shoulder emoji)

If you offered me £1m to live in dubai I would say **** no. It's not my cup of tea at all.

If a few selfish ***** want to go live in a tax haven then it's no loss to me. I say good riddance.

It's because the data it's scraped is also biased towards the rich.
