Is Teesside getting worse for violent crime?

Quite a few Cities have gentrified more in the last 30 years. Not many parts of Teesside have gentrified . I think its partly to do with wealth and opportunity. There more about than in the past in say London. Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds even Newcastle, but not so in 90% of Teesside. I can see parts of London that were working class that are now middle class where has that happened on Teesside?

Genetrification seems to bring less crime and more professional types. I am not saying its always all good but it feels a bit safer.
