Finally managed to get access back! Glad you enjoyed it, Solitude, the finest name of any ground in the world is a bit frayed at the edges as you doubtless admit, but thoroughly enjoyed my two visits there. Very friendly club. The game I saw against Carrick Rangers two years ago was one the best I’ve seen. Had it all. I go every August to see Stiff Little Fingers and though I missed a game this summer, expect to be able to go again. Maybe try Carrick or Larne next time.Great article in the latest FMTTM.
I follow Cliftonville… you reds!

Apologies as I haven't seen your article in FMTTM RR but why is it called the Solitude Ground? I love places like this. The oldest football ground in Ireland, the venue of the first ever penalty in International football. It has a gasworks end which is great in itself. I was in Belfast two years ago and wished Id made a pilgrimage to the ground.
The only shame is that it seems to have an It’s on a busy road with a lovely park nearby so I’m not sure. You best ask SCG as he’s a fan, I was just a tourist.
I like Livingston's Tony Macaroni Arena, known as 'the Spaghettiad'.Nah, Lancaster City play at Giant Axe nowt tops that.![]()
I’ve been there. The coldest I’ve ever been at a football match. Livingston 0 Falkirk 0. Terrible game. Sheltering from the bitter wind in the stand at half time, a couple of Germans said they had come over for a Scottish football weekend and they were going to see Dundee vs someone the following day. That turned out to be another dismal goalless draw apoarently. And probably no warmer. At least I got to see Stiff Little Fingers on the Saturday night.I like Livingston's Tony Macaroni Arena, known as 'the Spaghettiad'.
