Is Middlesbrough falling behind other places on Teesside and North East?

The Historic Qtr is looking mighty fine and money well spent but Albert road is the first thing people really see en-route to the Town and it's not pleasing on the eye. Albert road has may historic empty office space buildings but we still build new ones.
It is part of the historic quarter and will be receiving attention after the area immediately around the station. As you say it is a gateway. Renovations will flow outwards from the station. It has been a plan that was started by major national fund raising applications about 5 years ago.

When BP finally get their act together it will be very very busy around Seal Sands.
New H2 Schemes will employ 1000s and with that comes an uplift to everything.
It's taken some coming, decades, but at last some real investment.

Whenever this subject comes up you're always very quick to come to Andy Preston's defence, which, of course, you have every right to do. Just out of interest though, why's it so important to you and how do you form your view? Genuine question.
It's pretty obvious who this poster is.

Because I think he's good for the town. Lived in Middlesbrough all my life and have watched mediocre men with no ideas of their own in power. This is a refreshing change.

I don’t think anyone saying how well the digital sector is doing has actually looked at some of the Boho buildings and who is in them.
They’re at a. All time low in terms of businesses in there - especially the flagship, Boho One.
The town, and region has been mismanaged.
Look past the press releases and don’t believe the hype.

Hear, hear.

The Gazette are the worst offenders where propaganda is concerned.

I worked for a company that had a full spread of how successful they were and how much work they had on their books. It was distressing for the long term employees trying to explain their redundancy notices to their families.

Will you expand zzzzz?
I'm genuinely interested - apols if I'm missing something really obvious.

It’s really sad. The place is like a ghost town in all honesty. There is one big company left in Boho One but they’re transitioning to a partial or majority work from home model. As you say, a lot have gone under.
I’m sick of being told how Middlesbrough and Teesside is booming. It just isn’t. Anyone with eyes who visits or works in the town can see it a mile away. The whole operation is smoke and mirrors. The only thing the current chancers in charge are better at is working the media and Facebook.
Houchen has promised up to 85,000 new jobs across various projects. Some of the latest TVCA numbers has the actual figure as us being DOWN overall.
If we had any kind of professional media working with genuine intentions we might see some answers. As it is, continue to hear how great everything is going.

It has been said that the Uni is good for the Town. All I see a very nice and modern Uni area and a very poor Town center.

But what is he actually doing behind the grand headlines he basically writes himself?

Dave Allan writes a nice article about Middlesbrough.

Tees Business is published by Resolution Media and Publishing Limited.

Dave Allan is a director of Resolution Media and Publishing Limited.

Dave Allan is also owner and director of DNA PR & Publicity Limited.

Dave Allan describes himself as 'advisor to Mayor Andy Preston'.

Andy Preston pays Dave Allan to write nice stories about him.

Rinse and repeat.

Gullible isn't the word.

What are people supposed to do in Exchange Sq?
