Is Messi good for another World Cup?

Looking at him at the age of 35, there's not another player in the world that can do the things he can do. The way he plays doesn't rely on pace or physical attributes. You'd have to imagine that there'd be a place for him in the team/squad at the next world cup if he wants to carry on.

France, Portugal, Argentina

Mbappe, Fernandez & Messi.. defo the end bosses of a computer game!

England have more to offer imo With Saka, Bellingham & Foden

If Argentina win I think Messi hangs up his boots internationally.

It's really interested me seeing some of the players who are still representing their country, whilst not being far off the age of 40.

Suarez 35 years old
Pepe 39 years old
Ronaldo 37 years old
Thiago Silva 38 years old
Diego Godin 36 years old
Luka Modric 37 years old

It doesn't seem to be something which English players do though.

I know Southgate has made a big effort to promote youth during his tenure, but even in the past I can think of many examples of English players retiring from international football at relatively young ages.

Shearer was just 30 when he retired. He'd scored 23 Premier League goals the season leading into the World Cup 02, and 22 during the season leading into Euro 04. We really could have done with him at those tournaments, but I can understand that he will probably reflect back now believing he made the right choice, as he may not have been able to prolong his club career and continue scoring all them goals if he'd been playing for England.

I don’t think the English game and culture lends itself to longevity
