No it doesn't plllppppi do it the same way, however a true tea connoisseur would put the milk in first as boiling water damages the tea leaves and negatively effects the taste.

Your Mam was right.To be fair I'm a put the milk in last convert. Not sure if you're allowed to change your mind. I'm possibly the lowest of the low.
Growing up my mum always made it in a pot, then milk in the cup before pouring the brewed tea into the cup.
As I've got older and wiser I've come to realise it's far easier to regulate strength of your brew by putting the milk in last. I also can't be arsed making it in a pot. (Plus when you have it in one of those big cups in a cafe you get that cool swirling effect when you add the milk.)
I'm in full agreement with you on this roofie. Has to be Earl Grey for me though and it has to be strong with just the tiniest splash of milk and no sugar.Squiggy tea-bags with cold milk just doesnt cut it for me.
Two T-bags with hot water - squeezed with a big spoon and milk added last.
Its not British to put milk in before hot water.
