It's great for them that they qualified but making such a big deal that they made the last two tournaments in a row and what a great job Clarke has done - forgets it's a lot easier to qualify than it was for previous Scottish managers.

Scotland have been abysmal for decades. I don't begrudge them a time to thump their chests and enjoy themselves. As always there will be a small element who genuinely think that they are now somehow a superpower in world football that Brazil would be scared of, but I am sure most fans are not that far removed from the reality.

For those sneering, they comfortably beat Spain 2-0. They could well have had another brilliant result last week if VAR hadn’t got involved. And if Greece can win the European Championships, I don’t see why Scotland can’t.

That squad had some superb players.
They *could* have actually won it.
I think they were ranked 3rd in the world at the time.
If only they had bothered to prepare properly and done their homework on minnows Peru (the South American champions at the time) and Iran.
Bear in mind what they did to the Netherlands, a team they did prepare for.
The Willie Johnston stuff won't have helped either.
I remember English fans were right behind them as well. England didn't qualify and The Bay City Rollers made tartan cool.
This is a decent watch, including some interesting stories from the fans who made the journey.

Oh come on, you cant accuse them of arrogance when making public statements like this - they're happy they've qualified, what do you expect them to say "we were lucky and I'm glad we spawned our way to the final" ?
