Is Akpom the biggest turnaround in fan opinions since Zenden?

I give you Dmitri Konstantopoulos

Brought in essentially as someone to go in goal for shooting practice. Ended up as keeper in the tightest defence in the championship.

Forgot all about Dimi!

Not quite the samas as Akpom as Boro fans never thought he was a dud really, just a spare aging keeper vaguely there who they didn't know much about.

Geremi took a while to get going didn't he?

And Howson was getting loads of criticism in his first season under Monk.

But I can't recall another turnaround like Akpom's - it begs the question whether he was a good signing by the club, was it one of Gary Gills?

Pogatez was pretty awful for a while at left back and then he shaved his head and went into centre back and became a decent player.

Emnes and Zenden were the other two obvious ones for me.
