After Trump's speech last night, it seems many have taken it as the green light to to take to the streets and use their own weapons against their fellow citizens. Twitter is inundated with disturbing scenes of police brutality, there were rumours of Washington undergoing an internet blackout Sunday night/Monday morning... imagine what they would get up to when there is no one there to video it live.

Scary times.
 
Trump supporters bang on all the time about Threats to their 2nd amendment rights but why does no one mention the first amendment anymore.

If it was going to it would have started happening by now. Notice the groups of far right white racist groups haven't even blinked even when seeing some of their cities on fire.
They preach constantly about their right to own guns for protection etc etc. As far as I can tell they've stayed our of direct conflict with those they see as the enemy.
 
How about making every police office apply for his own job. Include psychometric testing and weed out the racists extremists and thugs. Its clear that there are too many wrong uns in the American police. They need to show that they are doing something about and in public view. Plus any police that accumulate complaints gets hauled on to a review panel. And fired if necessary. I get the feeling a lot think that they are the law and not just upholding the law.
 
It's such a complex country with so many different people in it. Hard to equate to the violence we saw in this country a few years ago.

Perhaps the police issue is that there are a lot of forces like Cleveland Police. Small, parochial, too many self serving nest featherers overseeing an overarmed, under trained group of officers. Add to that what seems like multiple layers of law enforcement, which has always seemed at odds with a nation against big government.

My wife has a distant relative who's a state trooper in the US, and his social media presence alone would bar you from so many public sector jobs in the UK.

That's assuming, though, that the racist police are the cause of the racial issues. I think its more like the racism in (American) society that causes the racism in the police. So you could just end up with a new bunch of racist police who've passed all the psychometric tests.

State Troopers, at least in NY, are largely traffic cops. Do not speed on the NY State Thruway - all the little towns just off the Thruway rely on the speeding fines for their income. They know it's highly unlikely anyone would ever bother going up there to court to fight it.

The issue you have is a lack of clarity just imagine if your view of the world was only viewed through fox news that’s is it you only reference point was Fox News as that’s reality for trump nation.

btw if you have never seen fox news and think it’s like sky news it’s not we have no comparison to fox news In the uk broadcasting standards wouldn’t allow it here.

yes it used to be on sky but as a foreign feed it’s gone now.

 
I often wonder just what will it take for some of his supporters to see the reality.

he even turned on Fox News last week that is pretty much his personal news channel.

Also if you've been in the American army you should be banned from joining the police force.
