Thanks all.
So it was Chaplins until the 90s and now IE. Must make it 30 years old?
Along with Isaac Wilsons and The Central must be one of the oldest in the town centre?
Swatters Carr used to be called the Tavern and the House back in the day(mid to late 90s).
And the Empire as my post above states.
 
It’s quite the turnaround considering how dead Libertys In Town used to be.

I spent a number of years doing a bit of work for the Jenkins’ when they had it. Used to organise Bands and Acoustic nights etc. for them in my late teens and early twenties.

They used to rely on the live events and function parties. The day to day in the pub itself was always really quiet with very few people in there.

Always seems packed every time I go past these days.
 
It was still the Labour club in 1990 - I had my evening wedding reception in the function room upstairs
