Interesting Neymar statistic.

Just seen it on Facebook. Surprised me to be honest.

After 653 career games:

🇧🇷 Neymar: 401 Goals, 224 Assists.
🇦🇷 Lionel Messi: 517 Goals, 218 Assists.
🇵🇹 Cristiano Ronaldo: 400 Goals, 133 Assists.

Doesn't appear to be true, unless they're counting youth appearances or friendlies that aren't included.

According to Transfermarkt, Neymar has only played 562 total games and scored 335 goals, whilst assisting 217.

I’d imagine that’s club games only.

His Wikipedia page has him playing 539 games scoring 332 goals for clubs.

Country - 115 games and 70 goals.

That's club and country.

265 goals at club level, 70 goals with Brazil.

But it's possible Transfermarkt is missing competitions from his early seasons with Santos as that's where the disparity is.

Yeah looks like transfer market only includes his league goals and continental goals for Santos.

Doesn’t include his Santos goals in the National cup or State league.

Looking in to it, it seems to be the São Paolo state league results that are missing, presumably because they're basically seen as development leagues.

Wikipedia has him scoring 136 goals for Santos.

Transfermarket has him scoring 70 goals for Santos.

Obviously a 66 goal difference.

On wiki he scored 13 goals in the National cup and 53 in the state league.

That Olympic Games warm up game v Team GB in 2012 was indeed Neymar’s first competitive match on British soil. Even then his theatrics were riling onwatchers.
