Interesting Carrick comment re injuries

I recall one particular reporter at one particular media conference inferring something about training methods and pitches.

Carrick shot that down straight away.

As for playing footballers who are "not fully fit", I suggest people listen carefully to Carrick's media conferences and listen to him having to explain [to impatient reporters] why he needs to "Manage" players through injury and why he won't play them until they are ready.

If you can't find the Media Conferences on YouTube, I suggest you search my word-for-word transcripts of Carrick's media conferences this season - and read word-for-word what he actually says. Facts are really important. (y)

When asked about Forss and Rav.

Said the Rav one - twisted knee, nothing can be done.

But when talking about Forss he said something along the lines of 'it's not good enough' when talking about hamstrings and other such injuries.

I suspect the inquest is well underway. I wonder if the fella leaving for NY has anything to do with the discussions that have taken place.

But it is good he is acknowledging that there is an issue.

Was also good to see him berating the players today for not getting the ball moving quick enough near the end. I spy a maturing in his way of managing which can only be good.

Carrick Post – Blackburn:

Post-match interview on MFC Official Website:

Michael. No way through for us today, what is your assessment of the game?

[MC]
Yeah, we just couldn’t find the answer in the end, really around the box. We created enough opportunities and probably enough chances that we could and should have scored from. In the end, it's another clean sheet and we defended OK. On a point-for- point, it's not really enough for what we wanted to do.

Frustrating, as you say. We do have to take the positives, of course. One of those was Isaiah coming back in and so close to getting the winning goal?

[MC]
Yeah. He's been back training a couple of weeks, Izzy. The boys have done well, so it was a little bit [unfortunate] on Rav [VDB] missing out today, it meant bringing [Izzy] back in. Yeah. In the end, he could have nearly won it for us and the rebound didn’t quite go in. But that's...it's a positive to have him back in, it's a positive to hopefully have one or two back after [the] International Break, or there or thereabouts and have a final push at the end of the season.

We have the International Break now. A chance to regroup and attack those final games as best as we can?

[MC]
Yeah. We'll be ready. I think it's the last push on the season really, and who knows you know. We try and win as many games as we can and see where we end up.

Here's what Carrick said about Isaiah Jones in his Media Conference v Norwich:

I think obviously we've got to be careful and man manage [Jones] back but, the boys who have played have done great as well, so there are both sides of it really. I don't think this is [just about] "Izzy" individually, but I think there's no one really that's going to just come straight back into the team. I think that's the beauty of it with a squad we've got: that it's good [to have] healthy competition to kind of push each other, to be at a good level and bring out the
best in everyone, really.
