The bank holiday one was mad too - eg the woman with the 'broken ankle' attacking police

That one should have been earlier in the series from what I heard but due to the sensitive nature/prosecution etc had to be delayed.

We all need to be aware of how dangerous teesside is. We are top of all the wrong league tables, crime, murder, alcoholism drugs. The recent gazette reporting of last year's murders were nearly all linked to drink or drugs with one of those killed someone I knew well.

There are overt major drug wars in G'town (shootings last week) and Hemo (I'm sure other areas I've not heard about).

I've said many times on here Middlesbrough is a dumping ground for a lot of societies problems. Lots of people moved here from other areas and when you add the high numbers of asylum seekers to those already existing problems what do we expect.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against asylum seekers at all but we set them up to fail with short sighted policies and planning and no extra resources. There's no wonder our council is nearly bankrupt, they should be shouting from the 'look at the statistics - we need more help'.

Evidently the bloke will be sentenced on April 29th. Two counts of wounding with intent and three counts of inflicting GBH without intent. How do you stab somebody without intent FFS?

because he was off his face on drugs

to be honest he was very lucky he was not shot... if armed officers had attended and he tried that it would have been a very different outcome.

I saw one episode.
It seemed to mainly about fights breaking out at the Central.
Must be the place to go if you want aggro.
Awful place in my experience.

About 16 years ago I used to do a few shifts for the owners (not sure if it’s changed hands since then) but mainly at Libertys in Town. I worked in a full time job but had just moved out on my own so needed a bit of extra cash to pay for a few bits so done a bit of casual work on weekends. They asked me cover a shift in the central one Sunday night.

It was full of absolute bellends who’d been on the sauce all day, and a good few bouncers obviously on their nights off. The atmosphere was toxic, must have been 3-4 flights in the space of a couple of hours.

People talked to you like chite, demanding to be served (the bouncers being the worst) but it was just awful.

I finished the shift and the lad who was manager asked me if I wanted some more hours. I told him that’d be my first and last time I covered a shift in there. Never went back.

I’ve relluctantly had the occasional pint in there over the years when meeting people out but I only ever walk past these days on the way to the match, but doesn’t seem like much has changed.

We are lucky in this country that guns aren’t routinely owned like in the USA. Most (not all) criminals now settle fights with knifes. Can you imagine what Teesside would be like today if guns were freely available?

I saw some footage on twitter/x of someone being assaulted in Milan. There were loads of comments from Americans saying 'and that's why you need guns' implying it's stops such behaviour and expressed shock at the violence. Lunatics.

I’d presume the rationale / charging decision from the CPS is along the lines of:

You caused two of the stab wounds intentionally.

And the other 3 injuries were caused unintentionally I.e “you were the numpty with the knife in your hand” (the injuries resulted from his “reckless” actions) but the CPS accept that he didn’t intentionally cause those injuries as they were likely caused during the “Bobby pile on”.

What about the naked man with the sword? The Police go round the back of his house. He is coming out of the top window onto the roof. Police, “Do you always come out of the window”? Bloke, “Yes”. Police, “instead of the door”?! :)

Anything about the year-on-years of corruption, officers resigning and disgracing policing in the area?
Never used to be a week went by without Cleveland Police being in the news for all the wrong reasons!

It’s about the frontline officers and the absolute weapons they have to deal with on a day to day basis. Whatever the management get up to you have to take your hat off to these guys
