Any of the older generation on this board have any memories or information on bill as my mate is trying to put a little booklet together for his son Noel

I know Bill from his days when he was involved in running local football teams in Billingham,he was a really nice guy who usually usually had the role of assistant manager and was also a fine footballer who was on the books at the Boro playing in the youth and reserve sides in the early sixties and he occasionally played if we were struggling to put a full team out on a Sunday when he was well into his thirties and made everything look easy even though he hadn't played competitively for years.
Bill liked a pint and was one of the few people I knew who smoked a pipe those days and could usually be found in the Kings Arms on a Sunday lunchtime where he was also involved with the quoits team.
I spoke to his wife who is a lovely lady a little while back and she told me Bill was not in great health so I hope he is OK and give my regards to Noel who came to the the games with his Dad and always had a smile on his face.
