Indian Restaurant In Bradford

This might not be ideal if you want to be in the centre of Bradford as its a short drive out but this is somewhere that should definitely be on your list for the future. Its one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at.

Been to Prashant a few times and it’s very good. It’s vegetarian isn’t it?

I’ve lived here for about 3 years and I’ve still not found a great place, which i find upsetting as i was always told how great Bradford is for curry.

Yes it is and I think that would put some people off but the food is unbelievable.

I actually found out about it when Gordon Ramsey made a programme about the best local restaurants years ago, even he was blown away by the food.

Its in Drighlington which is just outside Bradford.

* If you go try the Massala Dosa!

I’ve been to The International a few times when there for uni. The food is pretty good, BYOB but there’s a shop selling bottles of Cobra next door!

As a Bradford curry eater of several decades I would recommend the Punjab Grill (and Sweet Centre).
An open kitchen, so you can watch the food being made ... usually a good sign.
It is best for the grilled stuff, naturally ... the masala fish is fantastic. The red and green sauces are very good, but pretty potent.

Mrs 259 swears by their Tarka Daal ... me, I love the keema karahi, with extra garlic and fresh green chillies. It's awesome.
It's a restaurant that is popular with the pakistani and kashmiri communiies ... again, usually a good sign.

The Kashmir has always been very popular. I'm not convinced that it's as good as it was in its prime during the 80s. Had many a good meal there in the past but switched to the Punjab Grill.

Akbars is ok if you like mass produced chain food.
Mumtaz is better if you're going to go down that route. You can be treated a bit like cattle in both of them.

For anyone visiting Bradford, I’d recommend visiting any of the restaurants in the Holmewood area.

Or if you’re in Bradford for any other reason, I’d suggest a visit to Holmewood, beautiful part of the country.
