Independent Mini/BMW Garage recommendations

Friends need a couple of small jobs done on their Mini but not at main dealer prices.. Any recommendations appreciated.

i wouldnt worry about the whole specialist idea, ive generally found they arent any better than a general garage and there are plenty of very good garages that are happy and capable of working on any make of car. Perhaps say where you are based and a few will be able to recommend some good garages.

Same with dealerships, ive had issues in the past a dealer couldnt sort saying I needed a new engine but a local mobile mechanic fixed it for a few hundred quid.
 
I've used Stirling services before for my BM, they did a great job, but I don't think they are that much cheaper than Vertu BMW. You'd be surprised, and you can negotiate on price with Vertu depending on what your needing done.
