Serious thoughts about Newcastle postponing match against villa, due to covid.
Are there parallels with our situation against Blackburn all those years ago, i.e is it sickness on one team causing the postponement, surely they have a big squad and u23s etc. Or is the situation so severe, middle of pandemic it is totally justified?

Didn’t they try this trick when they had a few with conjunctivitis.

We played on with a manager who was positive as have others look at west am.

These players are tested continuously around the clock so if they are clear they should play.

I think a pandemic and airborne virus that's killed millions is very much different to whatever illness we had. I think our main excuse was that the U23s (reserves or whatever they were) played in midweek so they weren't available. I am sure man for man they would have played.

Everything I have read says most Boro players wanted to play that game at Blackburn. Robbie Mustoe says he's blames the club for relegation and says the players did enough.

I don't blame Newcastle. It seems the logical thing to do under the current climate. That said I guess the only 'worry' is that it may set a president and clubs all over the place will try and cancel with 5 out.

If the league says no then they will say 'well Newcastle got the game called off'.

Defiantly a Klopp rant coming😉

Christ I turn the telly over every time they go to him for a post match interview nowadays. He's like piers Morgan. I swear he never used to be chewing on about everything before they won the title. Absolute blowhard.
