Ikpeazu

I still do think he could have managed 15 for us.

But he started less than half of our games under Warnock, who played a style you'd think would suit him more, and it sounds like he's not going to suit Wilder's plans for the future.
Has he ever scored 15 in any season?

No, but he managed 6 in half a season with Wycombe in the Championship.

We are a better team than Wycombe and they're one of the few sides we could score more goals than.

I know we're starved of it at this club in recent decades, but 15 goals isn't really all that many in the Championship.

9 players managed 15 or more goals last season, 11 the season before, 14 before that etc.

I think Ikpeazu would probably have managed 10-12+ with us this season if he'd played the majority of the games, and that's not bad for a cheap signing.

He was a budget signing. I can only assume that we now have more money available now than we did when we signed this guy?

either that or Gibson didn’t wanna give Warnock too much money. Think now Wilder is here with a long term view we may be prepared to spend a bit more but still wheel and deal at the same time

He wasn't 2mil😂

It was 700k with add ons (that I doubt we will pay). I imagine we will get our money back. We don't with most.

6 in half a season doesn't mean he is capable of 14 in a season. What if someone scored 3 in a quarter of a season?

agreed, we've had some shocking forward who have failed to reach that mark

Yeah I think about 10 at a push, but that would hinder not help us. It's like when people were saying Britt was important to us as our top scorer on 10-14 goals, in reality he was holding us back.

Iirc some thought he would be a 15 goal striker
I thought that, and still don't think I was far off, if he had started most the games like was mentioned, and had we played as well as we expected/ to his style.

I thought he would get fitter mind, but now looking back it probably wasn't just that, it was more a combination of that, and all the running he had to do/ reliance on him, and it clearly knackered him out. This wasn't a bad thing mind, as he knickered the defenders out too, and this was being partially reflected in our results.

We only lost two of the 7 games he started, where he scored a couple and had and assist. We lost to Cov away, where the team was awful, and QPR which we should have won, but they're both top 6, and we managed a draw at Fulham too.

Not counting Birmingham away where he got injured, but it was 0-0 when he went off.

I think for a Champo side, where they want to play it long, he's a good asset and will give the defenders a tough 70 minutes, which hopefully can be capitalized on, or capitalized on with the subs. Not that I want us playing that way mind.

He cost around £300,000 with add-ons rising to £750,000 according to Warnock, many of those add-ons being difficult to achieve.

Even at the high end of the reported claims, if we assume Warnock was lying, it was £750,000 rising, he cost nowhere near £2m.
Just read in the press he was 2 mil, price apart still not good enough, very poor player.
