"Ignoring" someone

I've noticed some really bad behaviour on here this week and I'm calling it out.

Two people have proudly proclaimed they are "ignoring" me this week. Which is fine, I know people have different opinions. Although I don't know why the have to be drama Queens and proudly "anounce" it.

No, the problem I have with it is they both continued to insult me after they have ignored me. What sort of cowardly behaviour is that? Insulting someone without giving them the right to reply? If you disagree with someone, ignore them and don't engage. To actively insult someone after you have backed them is really spineless and cowardly behaviour. Why would you do that? One of them is still trying to insult me today. It's plain nasty.

I think if someone is effecting someone's mental health with how they post then the ignore button is fine. However I've also had people ignore me and announce it because I made the mistake of giving an opinion on politics they disagreed with. I'm not that clued up so didn't put up an argument or anything, but was told by them I'd been given the ignore button. I find it absolutely juvenile and pretty pathetic. The equivalent of putting your hands over your ears and shouting Nah nah nah. But then to continue calling after ignoring is even worse.

No, they won't but others will. And they'll notice the behaviour. I'm used to being insulted on here, some people think that's how you cahtto people. But for people to insult me and hide from me at the same time is pure cowardice. I'm just calling it out so you can recognise it

Yeah, it's really unpleasant.i don't normally speak up but I felt I had to here. It's not behaviour we need on this site
 
Small Town, I am not condoning their behaviour, but I must note that you are, certainly in your conversations with me, not entirely blameless.
On the occasions that we have disagreed, I have maintained a polite and reasoned approach, but you resorted to insults (troll) and abandoned rational discourse.
(I am not one of those to whom you are referring, of course. I do not insult people on this platform, publicly or privately).

I don't think i've ever engaged with him directly, but in my own opinion from reading this message board for a long long time - I've never seen anybody more rude and argumentative.
 
Update: it seems like things are being done to address the personal abuse I’m getting on here. This is really encouraging. I’m impressed by the quick response from admin. Maybe we should delete this thread to end the debate?
 
I don't ignore anyone - because that's censorship and we don't live in Russia

I want to hear all sides of the FMTTM story from all posters
 
Well, from an admin point of view, every single report over the last couple of days has been either from Smalltown or about Smalltown.

I won't speculate why that is, I don't really care. I can just say that it's really irritating, so think carefully before hitting that report button.
