iFollow what’s it actually like?

Despite this season not starting exactly how we would have all wanted I am thinking of getting a VPN and getting this before the Blackburn game.I know I must be mad!

What’s it like generally?

Will the VPN work okay on my IPad/IPhone?

I have never used a VPN one before is it relatively easy?

IFollow is pretty good quality. 140 pound for the year.

I don't have an ipad or iPhone but I would assume the browser will allow you to install plug in. Get a free vpn I use ghost, paid version but the free version works fine for streaming IFollow.

It's very easy to setup and I would think there will be a YouTube video with precise instructions.

I’d just pay £50 and get iptv and get iFollow from that. That’s what I did and cancelled all my Sky package too.

Be better of getting an IPTV subscription. All movies, TV and sports rather than just iFollow. Some dont require a VPN unless abroad but the bars can usually watch it legally anyway. Not that I have one though, a friend was telling me about it ;)

I tried getting an iptv sub which I still have but when the stream has the other sides commentary it does my head in.

I paid the season ticket & set VPN to Belgium so you still get the BBC tees commentary even when its on sky which I prefer, Don Goodman does my head in aswel.

I do this. Only downside is that it doesn't play replays, so when we do eventually score this season, the camera will just show the players walking back to the halfway. Sometimes the commentary is for the opposition not BBC Tees. As I live out of the area I can not access the radio on march days. Some of the Midlands BBC pundits are terrible to listen to after 20 minutes

The thing that put me off using ifollow on IPTV was that it would often buffer even though I have 1gb speed. Also as stated, its often the oppositions commentary. People complain about tees commentary but when you listen to some of the other teams commentary it makes you thankful for what we have. I bit the bullet this season and paid the £140 for the clubs package. Never had any problems with buffering and I watched the second half of last season on it also. However twice this season I've had to contact the club as the stream hasn't started at the stated 2pm. The first time resulted in me missing 20 odd minutes of the game (they refunded me the £3 match price). The second time they fixed the issue half an hour before the game and sent me an email apologising.

140 a season is pretty good value imo, given the commentary and replays. It's a much easier decision given the fact I rarely attend matches in person these days.

For anyone thinking about it, you should note that £140 was the earlybird price. I think full price was £170.

EDIT I've had the season pass from the beginning. The first year was awful, the second year far better and since then it's been nearly perfect bar that little incident the other week which Aztec mentioned above.

The first year was decent though with Bernie Slaven doing the commentary then they decided just use BBC Tees to cut costs

Why do you need the commentary ? You wouldn't have it if you were actually at the match and it's not exactly cutting edge analysis whoever is doing it.

Also re the £140 / £170 - if the match is chosen for overseas broadcast or is on Sky, you won't get the stream unless you use a VPN to one of the dark markets. There was quite a number last season

I was referring to the quality of the stream. Everyone suffered from constant outages and buffering. There was also only one camera and no replays, so it's vastly improved.

I work abroad so most of the time I don't need a VPN. The games where I do need it ofcourse I have one. You say it like its a difficult thing to do. Requiring a VPN should be no deterrent to anyone.

I don't need the commentary but it's part of the stream. So given a choice I would rather listen to Tees than another teams commentary.

When you compare it to a sky package for a similar price with 100 elite level games every month in ultra HD, compared to one game a week streamed with one camera it’s definitely not worth the money
