If you were carrick right now what would you do. Us armchair manchair managers

I understand what you're saying but I also feel playing a LB at RB is asking for trouble.

We haven't really had a settled side all season anyway. Wholesale changes have had to be made quite often this season.
We've had loads of right backs playing left back over the years with mixed success, but it can work.

Feels different a left back playing right back admittedly, but is that just perception because it very rarely happens?

Only time I can remember was Franck coming on to play right back at half time at Roma. We were getting rinsed down that side first half (can't remember who, Parnaby maybe?) but he did OK.

I really really hope Hackney or Fry (or both) are fit to play because there doesn't really seem to be a good option with what is left.

Yeah, it can work. I'd just feel a lot more comfortable having Howson there instead.

Crooks is more than capable of playing that deeper midfield role. Let's not forget Warnock was actually using him as a defensive midfielder at one stage.

I'd like to see us go with someone from the U21s and stick with Howosn in midfield, we'll be up against one of the best midfields of the league so far in Morsy and Loungo... 😬

Work on getting tighter to the opposition in wide areas in our half away from home, we are allowing too much space on our flanks and whether that's crosses into the box or efforts from range we are not getting close enough to the opposition in our half, I know it's a lot to ask given the fluidity of the team but I do think if we could just reduce that space and the opportunities it presents we'd be see a massive improvement in the goals against column, chopping and changing full backs hasn't helped but for me it's the one area that's costing us at the moment.
You're right the defensive problems were there before injuries.

RVDB would be my number one choice at Right Back,. then two of Fry, McNair and Clarke on the middle with Engel at left back.

if push came to shove I'd go for Bangura at Right Back over Howson.

Absolutely, don't solve the right back problem by creating a problem in midfield

I agree with not taking a midfielder out to solve the RB problem as we don't have the depth there to do it.

However, aren't Fry and McNair both injury doubts?

We keep doing what we’ve been doing and what we’ll continue doing until the day he leaves. We get the ball down and play, we show our bravery not through stupidly diving into rash tackles but by demanding the ball in tight areas and trying to play out, by sticking together and helping each other and supporting each other, and by scoring sh*tloads of goals. That’s the Carrick way.
