we wouldn't be able to handle most of the best players from those eras... jeez it only takes one or two good games in the champo and we start worrying that we're gonna lose out to a prem side...

90's you're gonna be having a serious look at Nigel Pearson.. but it would be hard to look past Robbie Mustoe for me
chronically under rated, a players player.. a total perpetual motion machine.
00's Mark Schwarzer was absolutely giant a top draw goalkeeper again under rated and under appreciated.. the crown goes to Stewart Downing honestly unbelievable how good he was.. perhaps his love for the club was the only thing that held him back. change his hometown or his passport and he is a bone fide prem legend.. he is proper up there!
10's Barry Robson is probably the first name on everyone's lips.. Grant Leadbitter his successor, Albert Adomah was a revelation, Lee Tomlin a magician, a case can easily be made for Stuani.. but I cannot get away from the Golden Child, women want him and men want to be him.. and probably fancy a bit of a fumble.. I mean.. who else but George Friend
Robbie Mustoe's heat map would just look like a red pitch, Stewart Downing with assists.. yerjokin arn ya.. to feet, to chest, head, shoulders knees and toes.. AND the marauding hard as nails elegance of the magnificent George Friend.

Going to try and pick players who haven't already been mentioned
90's - was going to say Barmby but B_G just got there before me, so I'll go with the other midget gem and say Higgy. great player to have across the front line behind the striker.
00's - Mendieta to sit in the middle and dictate the game, I love Boateng but not sure he is the type of player Carrick wants in the middle.
10's - mainly because I had a soft spot for him got to be Kike up top. I think he'd flourish in the current set up, very intelligent player.
