If he really said this he wants jailing

If you're interested (and have enough time) here is his witness statements.

Helen McNamara's evidence today is much more damning than the swivel eyed loon Cummings rants yesterday. He has a massive axe to grind and a nasty piece of work. McNamara is more measured but her reveals are even more astounding. Laughing at the Italians. Them getting covid was "great". The hairdryer nonsense etc

I am afraid my opinion of senior politicians running the country is extremely low and getting lower all the time. They are basically amateurs, its not their fault they are amateurs, but what is wrong is when they actually act and believe they have special skills. I am sorry to any senior civil servants out there, but the whitehall type ones again I have a low opinion of. They are often miles from the coal face. Many don't have technical training and have come from a humanities type background. They usually can express themselves very well in both writing and speech and have a decent intelligence level, but its their net effectiveness that concerns me. I do think resources should be a bit more directed at local government than central governement. I am starting to sound like a senior politician!

I’m pretty sure the same thing was said by a couple of posters on here during Covid.
I remember saying, deep into the pandemic, that saving a 3 year old’s life was more worthwhile than saving a 98 year old’s, and a few people getting offended. Can’t remember how we got on to the subject, was probably some whataboutery around terminal illnesses in kids going undiagnosed because of covid/lockdown.

I certainly never advocated letting old people die, and I don’t remember anyone else saying it tbh. At the start of covid I was saying we should be having a lockdown long before the Prime Minister was.

One poster 100% said that old peoples lives weren't as important as his daughters education. Then put me on ignore when I told him what a disgusting opinion that was.
Entirely different to what you said which I agree with.

Fair enough. I can probably guess which poster that was, and if it’s who I think it was, I think he was a decent guy. The pandemic really affected him though. I know it affected everyone, but all I’d say is that they weren’t normal times and I don’t think all people were necessarily behaving “normally”.

I think you have to consider for a minute the type of mp johnson filled his cabinet with. They were all nutters and to be honest sunak isn't doing much better.

Hi Redwurzel,
You do (often) get people with technical skills in the civil service. Its really vital though to have super capable generalists who can a) move around at the drop of a hat and pick up super complex briefs across loads of subjects; and b) deal with competing agendas and help get some sort of sense and synthesis and move everything forward.

To me the senior civil servant that gave evidence the other day (the one that was called a **** by Cummings) was the one that had the common sense. Her (to me very balanced) account of the levels of idiocy, crassness, mendacity and inhumanity displayed by the politicians and their non-civil service advisers (Cummings et al) was chilling.

Thank goodness there were people like her keeping the show on the road when you look at what Johnson was saying about letting the old people die.

That would be the civil servant who provided the karaoke machine.

Yes I do agree. But if you watch the evidence session you'll see what are the key points. Eg the cabinet ministers wouldn't distance, insisted on the staff being in together etc, wouldn't let Cabinet givernment happen otherwise.

The 7 key points in her evidence submission, read by the interrogating lawyer, are the salient points. And the last one about the lack of humanity in the political decision making is a big big statement from an impartial civil servant with her reputation for fairness and delivery. That's not made lightly.

I think if I knew my passing would save the life of a child, I would gladly save the child's life. Don't get me wrong, I think I still have a little to offer before I hand my rifle in but most decent people would want the child to live and hope they used the privilege wisely.

A good thing to say and I agree with it.

However the Tories have spent a long time trying to ruin the NHS. To drive the switch to private medicine. Also, there was no real planning for this type of pandemic. Then things were compounded by rampant incompetence and corruption led by the Tories.

The country should not have been in a position where such decisions should have had to be made.

Totally agree, the lack of planning was clear from the off.

I most want them to nail Hancock and Johnson for seeding Covid into care homes. They deserve jail for that "protective ring" (noose).
Evil.
