In the last game of his loan spell and is out for, let’s say, six months; does Forest just walk away leaving all responsibility for his treatment, rehab and wages to Boro?

Is that how loans work or are there clauses that pass some at least of the consequences of the injury to the club who player is on loan to?

Wouldn’t it be a real bummer if such a thing happened given the sale potential? Nightmare.

There will be an insurance policy in place, it will have been agreed at the time of the loan. In this case he had 2 loan spells one until Jan and then it was renegotiated with more favourable terms for us. I assume this included Forest paying for an improved insurance scheme.
