Go across to the Imagine Peace Tower https://www.imaginepeacetower.com/ which is the reason I went 2nd time. Also whale spotting and (subject to weather) Northern Lights tours worthwhile

Do not., pull over on any if the main country roads.
Find a side road to pull in if you need to stop.
We did a lot of bus tours and the busses use the kerb lines to steer by in poor visibility ( most of the time in winter).
Most tourist deaths are from rear enders from busses and trucks.
Do tour. Stay over somewhere remote. Just don't pull over on the side of a main road.

I don't know what your fitness levels are like but me and the Mrs snorkelled the silfra in a dry suit. I'm a qualified scuba diver and this water is the most clear i've ever seen. The visability is incredible. Would highly recommend.
