So I've had this ache in my left ball for quite a long time and aching in my groin moving up to wear my kidney is all on my left side. I'm waiting on an ultrasound but been waiting a while, they presume it's a hernia but I've had one before and it doesn't feel the same and i have nothing protruding. Has anybody else had this sort of thing before? If so what the hell was it?

I've currently got a left sided hernia (must ring the bloody doctors:rolleyes:) having previously had a right sided one 16 years ago. When I had the RHS one I had no pain local to the hernia but developed awful pains just to the right of my navel if I stood or walked for too long.
While researching my hernia years back I saw some photos of African natives with huge balls 😯. Basically the hernia had extend into the scrotum so I can well imagine that it may cause 'knacker knack'. I was going to try and find the photo but thought better of it. 🤭

I've had it a while mate and now it's doing my nut in (excuse the pun) I don't see why it would hurt in the kidney region though.

It took me ages (God knows why) to realise that the pain next to my belly button was caused by my hernia. It was at about 6" from the hernia bulge. I assume given that your guts have basically fallen through your body wall there must be pulling internally.
I must say that with the LHS hernia I've noticed some numbness on the inside of my upper thigh.

I've had an umbilical hernia before, it's probably what it is.

As I’ve currently been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia and have no lump, just persistent nagging pain, I now know there are so many different types of hernia and can cause lots of “referred pain” in areas not seemingly directly linked to the position of the hernia.

I’m currently waiting an MRI to see if it’s worth operating on.

About ten years ago I was diagnosed with a sportsman’s hernia. Had pain in my abdomen, ball. hip and kidney region - all on the left side. No lumps or anything like that. Hernia repair and good as new within a few weeks. Sounds very much like that to me.

Funny that 'cos when I was diagnosed the told me that it was a 'top champions league striker possible golden boot winner's hernia' ;)
