I wonder how other championship sides feel about carrick

It’s more who I’d be worried they’d attract in the window
Yeah, there is an element of that. I guess we'll see though. The loan market is notoriously hit and miss. We've had more misses than hits in recent years. Even some of the really highly rated ones like Balogun and Baker have been underwhelming.

That said you'd hope if anyone was going to get the best out of any highly rated Man United youngsters it'd be someone like Carrick, particularly if he already knows them and has worked with them.

If Carrick had gone to Bristol City for example, I would just think oh well, actually it wouldn't really register.

So I'll say fans of other teams might feel like that about Carrick with us.

We could have Pep here, without some decent players we will continue to be shoite.

Having said that im hoping we play to the strengths of the players we have and not try to over complicate it and play some decent football.

Attract from where??

Ten Haag isn’t going to do Carrick any favours by sending us players he might want in his first team squad, and I’d imagine their most promising academy players already went out on loan in the summer.

Or do you just mean from next season

Fans of other clubs I know are wondering if it hasn't worked out under proven managers like Warnock and Wilder what difference is Carrick going to make, we're perceived as a club with something going fundamentally wrong at its heart, sadly we're classed as a bit of a basket case who were expected to challenge for promotion but are in a relegation fight, see WBA as another case in point, the appointment of Carrick is being seen as a bit of a gamble.
I’d agree wholeheartedly. It is a gamble but Gibson likes a bit of a gamble when you look back at our previous appointments.
Aren’t gamblers always supposed to ultimately lose ?

Manchester United: Plenty on the fringes who Carrick knows well, with little or no chance of gracing the first team.
Big club - big squad - spend a fortune on bringing players in.
Carrick`s connections will bring dividends.
