I thought we played well

But if you don’t take your chances then you’re in danger and hull are one of those teams that don’t give up.
Hull were made to look distinctly ordinary at best.
We controlled the game but they got their chances and with 2shots on target and two goals hull thought they’d won the fa cup tonight
That’s how delighted they were. It was laughable to see them celebrating like they’d won silverware.

All that said, the only player I just don’t like and think he hides or just doesn’t suit us or just isn’t good enough for our project is……Barlassor.
The lad has his chance to stand up and out but my god, he shouldn’t be in the same league as howson.
Hackney hurry back then give barlassor to anyone for me.

And a final thought, we played with confidence but Carrick is suffering from injuries and having virtually no one to bring on and impact the game. I feel for him right now.

It was a difficult watch tonight as we seemed very uncertain on what to do with the ball. We go 1-0 up and the miss by Jones seemed to make us edgy. We labored with the passing to the front men and constantly looked to offload the ball.

Both of Hull’s goals were again down to defensive errors and lack of concentration and confidence.

Greenwood is a bench player at best as is Barlaser. Djksteel should be shown the door as I don’t see him being up to it at the Championship level.

Playing well and winning games are 2 different things.

I thought we were the better team after 30 mins against Ipswich but again didn’t do anywhere near enough to win the game.

We’ve got a bad habit of playing well but not making it count.

We didnt play well tonight, too many times we gave the ball away, not strong enough in midfield and poor up front.
We havent played well for a few games now and it is concerning.
I know we have injuries, so we have to accept there are better teams than us at present.

I thought we were awful after Jones missed his chance. Barlaser playing quarter back, Crooks just not at the races, Jones having one of his weird games.

Greenwood first half good, got the ball to Engel loads of times.

Defence for 70 mins were fab. Dijksteel clearly told to play some weird marauding role.

Crooks, Barlaser, Jones, all very poor tonight.

I worry about Carrick's refusal to change things. Tonight anyone off the bench would have done better than those listed above. And when we go behind you have to give some of the kids a chance. We were never going to score with the players on the pitch.

And his Tees interview was cringe worthy. Just refusing to be honest and then just not answering questions full stop. He had a right mood on.

Barlaser was to blame for both goals, lost his man for their 1st and had the opportunity to cut out the cross and clear it leading up to their 2nd. He could have even just left it and it would have been better than doing what he did.

It spoke volumes about him during the 1st half when he turned and found himself in acres of space, then turned back on himself and played the ball to a defender.

I didn't, I thought we were mainly awful. Some of the passing and decision making was dire, amongst worst I've seen. There were some really great moves eventually screwed up by everyone (most often Crooks tonight but many others too). Spuds off shins, easy balls put miles in front of players, easy sideways balls hit too fast etc. Just mistake after mistake. And that goes for both teams in the first half, like a game of ***** pinball.

Second half was a bit better for them, result therefore wasn't for us. It was amateurish tonight from us.

The only one he didn't answer didn't make any sense to me. What did he mean?

I thought we were decent second half. Only some desperate last ditch defending and scrambled kept us out. But...

Barlaser is a lovely footballer but is too sloppy in possession to hold down a place in a team that wants to be promoted.

Engel was one of our better players tonight - but he still looks panic stricken every time the ball comes to him. Weird to think our scouts watched him game after game and came to the conclusion he was good enough.

Most of the other recent recruits, Rogers, the other left-back who the manager thinks isn't even as good as Engel, Slivera, in fact I think all the summer signings except the keeper and Latte Lath, look well below the required standard.

Don't mean to be harsh or write people off, but that's how it looks to me.

I , to my shame .. only watched it on the telly.
The commentator described Engel as the " best player on the pitch going forward, horrible defending ". First half
Maybe they, and his last team , had a point ??

Wouldn’t go as far as saying we played well. we created a few chances in the first half and probably should have had it done by half time. But in the end, creating chances are not scoring them is just another way of playing badly.

Condescending regarding the Tigers fans. A great away victory for them coming from behind despite an average performance. Their manager won it them the game tonight, something which MC maybe needs to learn from. No wonder they were delighted, so would we all if roles were reversed.

We didn’t play well, and haven’t done so for a while.

Lots of pointless possession at the back and ponderous midfield play, with minimal pace and attacking intent seems to be the order of the day.

When we do get clear cut chances, we mainly waste them, as did Jones, Lath and crooks with guilt edged chances last night.

Carrick can’t seem to affect a game with subs. The whole ground could see that it just wasn’t working with croooks and Jones, yet greenwood is the first player subbed. Baffling.

We did play well. But it was in spells.

We also were very poor, again in spells.

We cut through Hull on several occasions and should have scored at least a couple more.

Hull created next to nothing. We slept in for a corner and got done. A lose touch from Barlaser gifted them the change to bury the 2nd and snatch the points.

We still had at least 2 more glorious chances after that.

In between it all, I really can't remember us giving the ball away so many times, either passing straight to opposition or passing straight out of play. It was a very Jekyll and Hyde performance.

Hulls celebrations at end should be enough motivation for the boys going into the next game but my god we need to get back on it.

A few good moves often capped with a wayward effort or cross to the first defender. In between, both sides striving to win the 'who can give the ball away most' competition - which I thought Hull slightly shaded. My main gripe about us at the moment is the lack of bite in midfield. We don't appear to be able to rustle up an effective tackle. Hackney a miss, as we've all said. And wondering what might have been had O'Neil not been crocked filling in at full back.
