The Guardian are running an article today stating that 1 in 5 students are struggling due to the cost of living and are considering dropping out of university. Only the rich are going to be able to afford education if the government doesn't address grants, etc.

That's their plan.

Wouldn't want the working classes educated as they see this as a massive threat to the comfy establishment setup.

Just look at the chronic underfunding of state primary and secondary schools since 2010 - make it as difficult as possible for working class kids to be given equivalent opportunities as their private school counterparts.
