The game was much harder, physically back then, as Souness was, among others, but I cant recall reading about injuring any player to the point of potentially ending their careers

I decided to delete the comment as it was unnecessary and inappropriate.

But since you ask and seem determined to dwell on it, there is nothing weird about discussing football in a pub.

But I think it is weird to regularly ask that particular question.
And to clarify, it is the fact that it is regularly asked which I find weird, not the question itself. After all, it is hardly a burning topic.
