I know we've got lots of football/management experts on here, but...

Took charge of my son's U10 team Saturday, so now pretty qualified.

So I can say with expert managerial knowledge McClaren is correct.

👍

It is grimmer than Loftus town centre on a Friday night at the moment but...if you take Carrick's entire management period with us I still think it's been a success.

Let's not forget last season when he came in we were in the bottom 3, it wasn't just a good season it was a complete transformation and we played some stunning football.

I'm probably in a minority but up until about 6/7 weeks ago I was really enjoying this season. The cup run right up till the second leg of the semi final was great. Playing for about two months with about 13 fit players and still doing well felt like us against the world, recovering from the worst start in decades to be on the verge of the play offs was exciting....then it all turned to absolute dog dirt.😱

But it will charge for the better again in the future.

Then probably for the worse again after that.😂

Good perspective fella

Agreed, people talk about not enjoying the football but at least up until xmas we were entertaining in defeat and creating chances ("having a go" as people always say they want). I was pretty certain we'd push on in the new year.
It's just since xmas (with some exceptions) where the football (and literally everything else related to the club) has turned dire.

The problems we currently have are not much to do with Carrick - the squad is awful compared to last season, we sell players and done replace them, too many 'project' signings that are not good enough.

The club is being ran on a financially sustainable basis - thats all well and good and its Mr Gibsons money not ours, but dont expect us to be doing anything other than treading water in the Championship for a long while. Any good players we get will be sold to fund more development players, most of whom wont develop well enough.
