... just kidding gang.

Gutted we couldnt get someone in to help up top, but look at it this way, I would rather not sign someone and retain the cash if the only viable alternative yesterday was taking a punt on a 'Kieffer Moore' type loan (costing us potentially 10-15k a week), not adding anything to the squad (except another body) and potentially disrupt.

We have players who can interchange up that end of the field whilst Coburn and ELL get back to fitness - I think about the Millwall and WBA recent results in particular (Coburn only making an appearance off the bench in one of those).

Put the striker issue to one side, overall a positive window for me.

Some smart loans in, in areas we have been weakened throughout the course of the season, and hopefully a permanent signing ready to take on the responsibility of filling the gap for the loss of the in form Rogers.

Even the Rogers deal is positive, its been allowed on our terms, and its been a while since Boro have played hardball on a sale.

Onwards and upwards you bunch of bellends! (said in a playful friendly way of course)

In January, who is available that would make a difference AND be in our price range?
The Prem clubs hardly spent any money so nothing really changed in terms of who might be available for loans etc.
Panic buys/loans for the sake of it would not have helped so I think we did well.

Get Forss up front and see us go!

Yes, I agree. The striker should be our own.
We can only help improve his price. If we continue to loan player.
Striker number 9 is the most difficult position to get the best player.
Player who are suitable for both price and quality, as well as playing well with the team's system.
It's probably going to take a long time. And definitely not now.

Not quite as concise, but still beautifully put Sugee

Gutted we didn't sign the right striker but glad we didn't sign the wrong one.

If the right striker wasn't available then I'm glad we haven't just signed any donkey therefore restricting budget etc for an actual decent striker in the summer.
Bang on. Was always unlikely the right striker would have been available at the right price, in the January window, at a time the prem teams have reduced spending massively.

I'm just glad that the club aren't sharing the fan tendency to panic.

We're in the mix with the strikers we have. We've lost a player who has scored a couple of goals and been replaced by a player who has scored more in a poorer side.

We have attackers back from injury and two coming back shortly from an international tournament.

The defence has been strengthened, we have more options in midfield than we've had for most of the season. We have our first choice keeper to come back.

Things are looking better than they have for some time, yet we're still in the play off chase.

Good points. Surely we can have a better 2nd half of the season than the first (assuming we don't continue to have at least 10 people out at a time)? The only potential negative is the loss of Rogers but he has been replaced so whether it's a net positive or negative will depend on how Azaz performs.

Whole heartedly agree - it will also give more of a chance to assess the futures of Coburn, Latte Lathe, Crooks, Silvera, Greenwood, Azaz, Hoppe, Gilbert, Jones, Forss etc… as part of that front 4. We have more than enough players but some of them really need to grasp the chance to step up in this run in.

One of the best things about Carricks squad is everyone has a chance to play their way back in.

Manuel Benson would have been canny loan.. good cover for Jones

Amad Diallo the same.

Hopefully Jones come back fully fit.
