I dare you to read all 48

Just another normal week for the Tories.

Incidentally, number 48, pretty sure I knew about this issue by November 2016. Leavers all knew what they were voting for, so it looks like it was only the people who they chose to believe, follow and reward who didn’t.

Just a shame the government are that bad that they still had no opposition at the end of the day to challenge them, why was that

You seem to be saying that the opposition are responsible for what the government does. Surely not?
Not saying that at all, you're implying it, which is different
I'm saying you & others keep preaching how bad the government are, with the covid pandemic I agree, but yourself & other have continually raised everything the government have done, or not, yet they had no opposition leading up to the election, says more about Labour than the Tories

‘Says more about Labour than the Tories’

That still sounds like you are claiming the Tories are not responsible for what they do.

But if I understand you better, you are saying that Labour are responsible for whatever the Tories do because they didn’t stop it. By not being attractive enough to the voters to be elected into government themselves?

I'm saying that yourself & others continually bash the present government, while continually blaming leavers, well I say others, not everyone points the fingers at leavers, a select few will put their own point across, without name calling
Dress it up as you want to what I say, you should ask the question to the Labour representatives, where do they go from here, or stand yourself, because I think you're quite capable

I could address that point by point, but what a crock of crap.

The opposition were subject to a misinformation and slur campaign by right wing media and russian billionaires and secret service, to levels we have never seen

There is a direct line from Brexit to this Government.

And the continual criticism is because the period since then has been one farce after another.

I mean in the past, while there were sometimes specific appalling decisions a Tory govt made that would rile me up, it was generally a case of maintaining things could be done differently or better.

But for the last 4 years it has been more a case of struggling to find a way things could have been done worse.

Thank you for that Lefty & BoroMart, well 2 polite responses out of 3,

Thank you for that Lefty & BoroMart, well 2 polite responses out of 3,

I do have some sympathy for moderate Tory voters who have had to defend the last 4 years or so. It’s been exhausting enough for me, I can only imagine how soul sapping it must be almost every day to wake up and find there is another fiasco which is going to be thrown at you.

Lefty, I have a lot of time for you, you come across as a well educated poster & put your points across really well, as I think also BoroMike, finny, Coops, coluka & weegord, I certainly couldn't stand toe to toe with you in a debate, which wasn't my intentions
As others have mentioned on here regarding changing their voting to Conservative as opposed to Labour
I have voted Labour all my life, after reading up & talking to people on both sides, plus all the in house slur fighting & either as a government or Brexit, decided against Labour
Now Keir Starmer seems to be a breath of fresh air & could bring the Labour Party a lot closer together & the bring the voters who left to back the Labour Party

Starmer is a bit too centrist for me, but as an alternative to this government I'd willingly take him.
Labours problem will always be that it is too easy to level the cost of their manifesto against them, particularly if it is a more socialist manifesto.
The perceived threat of losing money is enough to stop a lot of people even contemplating voting Labour. Contrast that to the Tory trick of offering sweeteners while bleeding the public coffers and services. If Labour can find a way of getting people to think of their taxes directly paying for the things they depend on like the NHS and infrastructure then they might have a chance of overcoming the prejudices they suffer from.

Cheers dood, isn't it nice & refreshing to put a point across as opposed to just been downright rude

exactly this. Lets be honest "one nation Tories" are thin on the ground in the backbenchers, let alone in the cabinet these days, which is effectively a bunch of far right, corrupt and inept charlatans.

There comes a point where these centrist tory voters need to stop looking at politics as if it's football. You can change teams, you can withdraw your support for policies and individual politicians, you don't have to support 'your team'.

See I look at these lists and can at least not feel shame and guilt and can laugh at the absurdity of what it's all becoming.

Not only did I vote labour I backed Corbyn to the hilt, even at his most unpopular I told my friends and family and work colleagues that he cared and would do more for this country than any Tory government would.

There's plenty on this thread and on this forum who didn't and trotted out the press platitudes. I watched the Tony Benn documentary that roofie posted and they did the exact same thing to him 50 years ago.

Special shame on the guardian and the BBC that sniped him from a distance all in the name of 'balance'.

They've got their status quo nothing more than a suit candidate now, feck the 5 years in between that everyone else will suffer and corruption will reign.
