I actually think coluka did right to leave this board

If this is about the jubilee thread. Boroboy started a thread to state his dislike of the whole royal 'celebration' charade. This is a free country and he has every right to do that.

Everyone has choices at that point:
- ignore it
- support it
- disagree with it
- block him

The distasteful bit is when someone immediately attacks him and and tries to undermine his comment by calling it whining, then telling him to STFU.

I'm not sure why they should STFU for having a different opinion, and I'm not sure why ad hominem attacks about whining, are seen as some kind of debate.

Debate with honesty and respect or you bring the board down. You don't have to like his opinion or anyones, but it's a messageboard and people will have opinions. If you want to challenge it, do it without being personal or acting as the thought police like that.

Yes, once someone starts the attack they're bound to get some back. It started with NorfolkRed making a personal attack and telling someone to STFU. Once NorfolkRed decided they were the thought police and started being personal, it was always going downwards. I really doubt if that conversation was in a pub that Norfolk would have started with that comment, maybe Norfolk should think about checking themselves before responding because if they behaved like that in the real world they'd probably be put on their ass every other week.

On the bright side it's one day closer to the new season.
Another bright side, my allotments doing well, things starting to grow.

That depends on your definition of out of hand Erimus. I don't see it that way at all myself. People are peed off about a lot of things right now and that's understandable and the board reflects that. I'm peed off about a lot of things too. There's nothing soft about you though mate. I sent the bum faced lads out once to find out what you did for a living and they said that they watched you lift an entire ship out of the water with one arm just to clean the barnacles off the bottom of it with your other hand. They were really impressed. You're almost as tough as we are.

Many other club’s football messageboard have taken to banning political threads in fact I’d suggest most have. I wouldn’t advocate that but I can see how these do get out of hand.

That was last Wednesday on my last nightshift & I was feeling a bit off that night too 😁
 
Sadly i find its getting so political at times its mental , if you are not on message you get swamped & for gods sake its a meesage thing , not a pile in , which seems to happen .

Hang on in there Mr E , i have since the pre reg days in various names al a Block 26 etc , by & large ignore the politico 5h1te
 
Its the football close season is part of the problem.

Remember the Robins (birds not Bristol City fans) on here - they will argue and fight with themselves, if they can't find anyone else to argue with.

I feel like a gardener at times. I give them ammunition/food to try to be helpful. I do like a discussion but nothing like the Robins too. And I will say if I made a mistake or discovered something I did not know etc, Robins are always right.

strange these brexiteer champions moaning and flouncing over their politics.

perhaps the shame of destroying their country is too much for them - it cant be the contents of the board, they have all been here for 'years & years' - they know how it rolls.
