Nowhere near good enough up top to be certain of top 6, midfield neither, those possibles listed above don’t replace Tav. We dealt with that badly, every team gets a replacement before agreeing to sell, but no, not our negotiating team. Now any transfer enquiries we make are met with inflated prices and as such we are falling behind and will be playing catch up. It isn’t season defining, but the longer it goes on the more likely it will be.
I was so optimistic after Wilder’s comments after last season. He doesn’t appear to be being supported with the right quality up front as yet and CM, well nobody as yet, from where I am looking.
I was pleased with the early season signings of Giles and Lenihan and to a lesser degree Robinson. Jurys out on Forss, but a decent start tbf. He needs a strong partner up there, Hoppe could be anything, don’t expect anything but this being a mistake, but if he isn’t I will be chuffed and admit I was hasty.
After Saturday, Jury out on keeper too, looks (I’ll be kind) rusty.
Will Chuba score 12-15 goals…….. no IMHO.
We are lacking as a minimum
1. LCM box to box
2. Strong proven G/S Striker
3. Strong proven G/S Striker
4. LCB
5. CDM
As things stand I see us finishing 8-10th, get those 5 sorted with quality loans and signings then top 6. By the time the window shuts is the time to say whether top 2 is doable, but Gibbo needs to show ambition, but teams will look at the Tav/Spence money and want a whack of it. We need to learn from our mistakes, not repeat them. UTB
Still trying to be hopeful, but the vibes seem we are trying to be Brentford, but without the quality recruitment, still time for it to change though so
