Let’s say we fail to get any more signings over the line over the next fortnight, how do you think the season pans out? How do you think Wilder will play it? It’s not looking overly positive I must say. If the squad is as it is now until January I think we will be mid table at best.

We will get more bodies in. They might not be any of the ones we are after but if that is the case we will end up with some last minute loan deals. However to answer your question i.e. how would the current squad fare with no further additions I think it depends on the forwards. How good will Akpom be over the course of a season? Same question re Forss and Hoppe particularly the latter as he is a complete unknown quantity. If they were to have relatively good seasons then we would be in the playoff hunt if not then top half is the best we could hope for.

Midtable when the next transfer window opens. Lots of games like recent ones where we play well but aren't clinical or solid enough. Win a fair amount but not as many as we should. Overpay for reinforcements in January. Sneak into the playoffs at best.

I would be very concerned if we got no other signings - the squad is effectively only 20 players at present plus some youth players. There will be a time when at least 5 players are not available.

I really think we need to get ready for a "we tried our best but couldn't get anything over the line" speil from Wilder and the club. Maybe the odd squad filler but no one of consequence.
If that is the case we will miss out again on the playoffs.
