Huw Edwards

The BBC needs to be put on to subscription only, its had more than its fair share of deviants and seems they hide them.
Its had its day, it can even keep a load of dim wits dancing about like idiots in check.
Its a joke these days to fine and give people criminal records because they haven't bought an annual TV Tax licence. Give people the choice to decide what they want to pay to watch.
I've always paid up for mine but you have no option really, which I feel is completely wrong.

Care to compare it to other organisations who employ in excess of 20,000 people, say the police force, and the amount of criminals it harbours ?

I do find a bit strange how the BBC behaved when BBC whistleblowers were reporting several issues in 2022, then there was the Whats App stuff a year ago about engaging with under 18s in appropriately, Then the arrest in November 2023. By then you would think its time to suspend his contract not just put him on full pay gardening leave. Contracts today must have terms about damaging the image of the BBC.

Against this the BBC were saying there will be never any sort of Jimmy Saville stuff at the BBC again.

Unless there was evidence that there was a malicious campaign by third parties against Huw Davies.

It does smell of treating their senior staff/celebrities quite differently to say the treatment someone would get in a teaching job.

Possibly the BBC wants to be seen as a liberal employer and celebrities are in the public domain (unlike 98% of BBC employees) and £470k a year celebrities have expensive lawyers. Not easy to balance for the BBC, but quite a few of us think they were a little generous.

I've worked for a big company with over 5000 staff at the time, I cant remember staff on a regular basis being rumoured to do things I wouldn't like to write out, let alone being prosecuted for heinous crimes. Mr Saville hasnt been the only one has he.

So because you cant remember anyone in your organisation, a quarter of the size of the BBC, then it didn't happen - great.

I've given you an example of a large employer that houses more than its fair share of criminals (Not sure anyone from the BBC has ever used their position to murder anyone yet). Have a look at sports people as another example, shall we get rid of sports too ?
