Hundreds of Tickets Available for FA Cup Semi

Just got a message through from Stubhub about tickets being available for City Chelsea tomorrow, had a look and there are hundreds on resale from about £70. Shows firstly, that tickets are going to the wrong people and secondly that the fans of both clubs aren't that bothered.
I went to Man City v Sheff United semi final a couple of years ago and I think there was around 8-10k empty seats. Majority in the City end. They are generally around the top tier so it isn't too noticeable when you are at the game but it does show you that hosting semi finals at Wembley are a bit of a farce.

I'd be surprised if Chelsea didn't sell their tickets being London based but you can understand why City fans don't want to pay the massive cost of travelling to London and paying extortionate Wembley tickets when they might be doing it again in a months time for the final. A lot will miss this one with the thought of going to the final if they make it.

I have seen lots of Citeh games on the TV when they haven't sold out their own Stadium. I don't think they have extended their fan base as much as their spending as increased in the last 18 years.

Surprised - we sold around 42k tickets for a Play Off Final in 2015 and it was a mad scramble.

I would have thought Coventry received around 35k for the semi.
I think people are more likely to want to travel for a play-off final.

It took us a week to sell 4,700 tickets to the league cup semi at Chelsea.

They've been at Wembley 14 times in the last 5 seasons, I'm not surprised the semi-finals aren't selling out, people will get fatigued, especially for one that's not the final.

The clubs receive c.68,000 tickets for the semis & c.60,000 for the final, so there are 22-30k floating around having been dished out to Club Wembley and the wider football family.
I'm not surprised that reselling sites have tickets available.

Know a couple of City fans who are totally meh about going to Wembley for the semi. Not arsed about going as they are sure they will get there for the final so .......🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️.

Daughters boyfriend is going to Brighton next Thursday rather than the semi, more interest for him.

What a state of affairs. We'd have sold our full allocation in hours. Modern day football.......🙄

Would we have sold out our 14th allocation in 5 years?

Chelsea didn't go on general sale did they?
They never got to general but they went down to 33+ priority points so non ST holders could still get them.

They only sold out once we beat Chelsea.

Obviously the fact that a lot of people thought it would be dead before the 2nd leg kicked off impacted sales. But even still, there's not as many people willing to make sacrifices for a semi as what they are for a final.

As we saw in 2006.

They are also in the process of increasing their stadium capacity.

I work in Manchester and for what you could call standard premier league games people are always offering tickets.
