It's crazy. they reckon 1000+ injured. These must have been modified and supplied by a sleeper unit over a long time.

You'd hope that the pagers were actually modified to explode and not just off the shelf ones that the Israelis have somehow exploited remotely. If it was the latter then any device with a battery could essentially become a targeted explosive device.

Reports are saying that it could be a supply chain hack - i.e. devices tampered with in manufacturing given the size of the explosions - and that it's not like a battery has exploded by remote signal.

Without having the first clue what I'm talking about, is this not a war crime given there's no way of knowing who has one and who is in the vicinity? Or is it just an act of terrorism?
Either way if Israel are behind it (assume that's the case, not sure if been confirmed yet?) we can surely expect the West to erm, possibly tut loudly.

They are genocidal. Gaza is almost destroyed, thousands murdered with weapons we pay for. The IDF given permission to kill hundreds of civilians to get to one or two Hamas 'leaders'.
Why don't we nuke Moscow to get Putin?
But we seem to be almost desensitised to it. Yet another humanitarian disaster caused by a vengeful and vindictive state. Another country run by right-wing lunatics.
Western leaders seem scared to even use slightly critical language of what is clearly an ongoing genocide.
