Howson

Don't know if it's just the way I watch the game but he just seems to go missing for me!

Obviously we had other issues tonight but it feels like playing with 10 men sometimes, offers nothing going forward and nothing defensively.

It’s mad how we all see games differently. I think it is the best he’s played this season. He literally ran the game at times. Don’t remember him losing the ball. And thought he was heavily involved throughout. Only slight against Howson is he doesn’t like to dish out a bollocking to his team mates which I think sometimes is needed.

to be fair, i expected this kind of response. I just dont seem to remember him putting it one tackle or making any passes. Always seem to notice him when we dont close players down quick enough allowing them to cross (see stokes second goal although you could have said that for another three players and also jones and djiksteel for allowing wright-phillips inbetween them

Must of watched another match if you don’t remember him making passes. Did you have the Sunderland game on

Apart from a few months each season you are correct. The exception being last season when he was mostly decent.

I've got to agree with the above, it's definitely you. But that's what's great, it's all subjective. If you watch Howson though, he reads the game so well he rarely needs to make a tackle, he's always available for the ball, he probably makes more passes than anyone else in the team and he's the one who carries us forward when we start to stall.

I've seen a lot written about Sander Berge on Sunday but apart from the first few minutes, Howson was the best midfielder on the pitch. Berge particularly didn't like it when Howson clattered him in the second half.

We're a better team with Howson than without

Yes, just you.

Rolls Royce. Makes some great tackles and a few crunching ones lately. Rarely wastes the ball and has an eye for a pass. Great engine on him
